Kaya-ori cotton fabric weaving has been a secret of the craftspeople of Nara for centuries. Up until the middle of the 20th century, it was mostly used for making mosquito netting but with advances in insect-repellent technology making those nets unnecessary, new uses had to be found for this fine fabric. One, proposed by the Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, a shop that has been promoting Nara craftsmanship since 1716, is as dishcloth, thanks to their superb absorbent power. And this is what you get with the Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Hana Fukin Dishcloth Set!

The Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Hana Fukin Dishcloth Set is available in packs of three, five, or seven cloths, all 58 x 58 cm (22.8 x 22.8"), dual-layered, and made from 100% cotton. They are available in a range of colors and are extremely handy because they not only absorb a lot of water, they also dry very fast. A perfect example of how even the most mundane object can be transformed into something unique thanks to superb craftsmanship and attention to detail!
