Mini Kagami-Biraki Sake Cask Cherry Blossom

Traditional celebration drinking set

Every year on January and February all over Japan, kagami-biraki celebrations are held: companies, associations, and all kinds of groups buy sake in taru (wooden casks), gather together, break the lid open with a wooden mallet, and drink the sake to celebrate the beginning of the year. And because the Japanese like to party, there are other opportunities for kagami-biraki throughout the year, including the hanami cherry blossom-viewing picnics. The Mini Kagami-Biraki Sake Cask Cherry Blossom has been designed for such an occasion, but of course you can use it in any setting you want!

What you get in the Mini Kagami-Biraki Sake Cask Cherry Blossom is a small (17.5 x 18 cm / 6.9 x 7") taru decorated with the classic silhouette of a cherry blossom and the character for "congratulations" and "long life" at its center, plus a wooden mallet to smash it open (the lid is actually magnetic so you can reattach it afterwards), a wooden hisaku dipper, and two 90 ml (3 fl oz) wooden masu sake cups. You can fill the 720 ml (24.3 fl oz) bucket with sake, juice, or even treats, making it suitable for various events!
