Meri Tove T105 Indoor Flip-Flops

Modern update of traditional Japanese zori sandals

There are several things that surprise first-time visitors to Japan and among them is that for a nation of islanders, the Japanese are not as fond of the beach as one would expect. That isn't true for Okinawa, though, which has South Pacific culture written all over it, including bright colors like coral and ocean blue. Yes, the exact colors the Meri Tove T105 Indoor Flip-Flops come in! Which, as you will agree, is the perfect color scheme for footwear meant for the beach!

The difference is that the Meri Tove T105 Indoor Flip-Flops are, as the name suggests, not made for the beach: they're a substitute for your home slippers but with more freedom of movement for your toes. They are also not made in Okinawa but in a small workshop in Tokyo, close to the Sumida River, and the technique used is a traditional one like that used for the waraji sandals people wore 200 years ago. Made of a special 50% cotton, 50% polyester knitting yarn, they come in three sizes (M, L, LL) and have an adjustable strap so you can get the fit right.
