Kyugetsu Hamayumi Bow with Case (Large)

Ceremonial bow and arrow ornament

It is a custom that goes back at least 200 years, when gender roles were very specifically assigned in Japan: a girl's gift for the new year was a doll and a boy's was something related to the samurai, the legendary warriors and symbols of all the values parents wanted their son to manifest. The custom continues to this day and the Kyugetsu Hamayumi Bow with Case is one such gift that, even if you don't have a son to give to, is a beautiful and very Japanese ornament for your home!

The Kyugetsu Hamayumi Bow with Case features a black varnished stand, which holds five arrows with spectacular golden fletchings and stands between two bows, also made of black varnished wood. All these are positioned against an impressive backdrop with a picture of the mythical beast called the kirin (qilin) and enclosed in a 33 x 29 x 56 cm (13 x 11.4 x 22") case made of glass and black and gold varnished wood. Give your space a touch of samurai splendor with a piece made by one of Tokyo's oldest makers of dolls and children's gifts.
