Children in Japan learn to walk barefoot from very early on: even babies a couple of months old can be seen hanging in slings cooing happily and waving their tiny bare naked feet around, even during the winter. Flip-flops, called zori” in Japan, are the next stage, allowing children (and adults too) to go essentially barefoot and at the same time keep the soles of their feet clean and reasonably safe when they walk outside. Or, in the case of the Children's Indoor Flip-Flops White, even when they at home!
Designed and hand-crafted in Tokyo's Sumida ward, the Children's Indoor Flip-Flops White are made using a technique that is simultaneously very modern and very old: traditional zori and waraji sandals were made from intertwining straws, and here the straws have been replaced by a 100% cotton knitting yarn that is so soft and comfortable, your children will love having them on all the time! They are available in three sizes with lengths of 16 cm (6.3"), 18 cm (7"), and 20 cm (7.9"), and their strap is adjustable so your kids can keep wearing them even as they growth!
