Modern version of traditional Japanese zori sandals for kids
Who said Japanese are stuck in their ways? As a matter of fact, they often say it themselves but the truth is they really do like new things, including fresh takes on old things, and the Children's Indoor Flip-Flops Olive is a very good example of that: starting from the zori split-toe sandal, a tried and tested design that has been serving people's feet for centuries, the Tokyo workshop Merikoti took things in a very different direction with amazing results.
Keeping in mind that children want to go barefoot all the time, and also need good arch support, Merikoti created the Children's Indoor Flip-Flops Olive, weaving a 100% cotton knitting yarn in a technique not unlike that used centuries ago to make the waraji straw sandals the samurai wore. The result is a pair of very comfortable indoor everyday footwear that is available in three sizes (16 cm/6.3", 18 cm/7", and 20 cm/7.9") and comes with an adjustable toe separator strap.
