If you have seen Japanese people, men or women, wearing kimono, you'll have noticed that the standard accompanying footwear is the zori sandals, shaped like flip-flops. But it wasn't always like that, especially when it came to samurai warriors: their shoes of preference were the waraji straw sandals that would wrap around the foot, keeping it in place even during long walks. The buntA Waraji Sandals have been designed with the waraji in mind but have given it a couple of extra 21st-century boosts!
The difference is the materials: instead of straw, which isn't exactly what you would call durable or comfortable, especially whenit directly touches your skin, the buntA Waraji Sandals are made of a specially designed rubber that bends along the curves in the soles of your feet, making you feel as if you are walking barefoot. The thongs have also been streamlined with polyester cords that are much more gentle on the skin and virtually indestructible. Get them in seven different sizes (see below) and six colors, and discover a new way to walk!
