Truss Planter Flower Pot

Haikyo abandoned building design

Because of its phenomenal postwar development, Japan is full of urban ruins. As a matter of fact, exploring of abandoned buildings (haikyo) has become a popular hobby and the subject of some amazing photography! Using haikyo as its inspiration, Pull+Push Products from Kyoto has created the Truss Planter Flower Pot, one of the most interesting approaches to a plant pot we have seen!

Truss Planter Flower Pot

Handmade from mortar, glass and brass, the Truss Planter Flower Pot looks like a miniature abandoned building. The attention to detail is amazing, such as where one of the pillars has crumbled to expose the rebars! It's big enough to hold a small plant but not so big as to dominate your space, and if your thumbs aren't particularly green you can always use it as a candle holder or container for other objects. Add an interesting note to your living room or home with this fine example of Japanese design ingenuity.
