Thanko Hokaten Light Heated Indoor Jacket

Warming traditional Japanese overcoat

Back when central heating didn't exist, the Japanese used to get warm during the day by wearing special cotton-padded jackets called hanten: looking like a thick kimono, they were an essential part of the Japanese winter and still are, especially in the countryside. It was only a matter of time until someone thought that it would be a good idea to combine the concept of a hanten with portable heating tech, and the result is the Thanko Hokaten Light Heated Indoor Jacket!

Available in one size (see measurements below), the Thanko Hokaten Light Heated Indoor Jacket has enough padding to work as a regular hanten but also comes with three heating elements powered by any 5 V 2 A USB battery or power bank. It has three heating levels corresponding to roughly 50°C (122°F), 45°C (113°F), and 40°C (104°F), and if your battery is 10,000 mAh, it keeps you warm from anywhere between five and eight hours. And since it's made of cotton, polyester, and spandex, it is machine-washable so you can wear it the whole winter through!
