Muji Emergency Toilet Kit

Three-day portable lavatory set

We don't often think about it but in times of emergency, one of the main things that we need to plan is how to go to the toilet: not all evacuation spaces have functioning toilets and even if you are at home, the plumbing might not work after a typhoon or an earthquake. Because of their constant exposure to such situations for centuries, the Japanese have become very good at thinking of solutions to such a problems and this is why even a home and lifestyle company like Muji (Mujirushi Ryohin) came up with the Muji Emergency Toilet Kit!

Without going into the gory details, the Muji Emergency Toilet Kit comprises five waterproof toilet bags and 15 high-absorbing polymer sheets. You can unfold the bag inside the bowl of your toilet, do what you have to do, and then throw in two or three of the sheets that come with it. Thanks to their absorbing quality, they make the contents dry enough so you can dispose of the bag easily without having to worry about leakages and odors. Not exactly a pleasant thing to consider, but preparation is the only thing that can make a disaster less devastating.
