Kai Korokoro Food Chopper

Easy-to-use kitchen food processing tool

One of the things people who visit Japan realize is that local expertise in cutting tools doesn't start with samurai swords and end with chef knives: all main centers of cutlery – Sakai in Osaka, Seki in Gifu, Tsubamesanjo in Niigata – produce excellent tools that cover the whole spectrum of hamono (bladed things). The Kai Korokoro Food Chopper is a great example: from the craftsmen that bring you some of Japan's most popular knives and shaving razors comes a tool that makes your life in the kitchen ten times easier!

The Kai Korokoro Food Chopper is available in three options: Multi, Herb, and Garlic. Each has a slightly different shape and set of blades but they all share one common characteristic: you put in the ingredients, close the lid, and then roll them on your kitchen bench so their blades get to work on the contents. Easy to use and clean, they cut and chop vegetables and herbs, or mix dressings, sauces, dips, or mayonnaise with minimum effort from your side. And as for how good the blades are, Kai has been making hamono in Seki since 1908, so there's a lot of know-how in these almost adorable round tools!
