Ask any Japanese office worker what two things make up the perfect way to relax after a hard day and they will invariably tell you it's beer and yakitori at a hole-in-the-wall izakaya restaurant near the station before they take the train home. Beer needs no introduction but what's yakitori? It's small chicken skewers that are grilled one by one by cooks who have been doing it for decades. And because good drinks, good food, and good company make for some good laughs, the Grilled Chicken Yakitori Game ensures you get them!
Inspired by the real "rules" of etiquette that govern a yakitori meal with friends, the Grilled Chicken Yakitori Game features five skewers, each in a different style of yakitori: negima (chicken meat and welsh onions), kawa (skin), momo (thigh), sasami (tenders), and reba (chicken liver). On each skewer, you get five bits of food. Decide the order by placing rock paper scissors. Each player then takes a turn to roll the die and then remove up to three pieces of the meat from the skewer indicated by the due. You can't pass. You can't swap skewers (i.e., take off meat from one skewer and then from another). You can't put the skewer down once you pick it up. The person left with the last piece of meat is the loser. Vary the fun with additional rules (a time limit to take the pieces, etc.). Add a couple of real beers and the laughs after a few rounds of the game are guaranteed!
