Earth Uzumaki Ko Mosquito Coils (30 Coils)

Classic Japanese insect-repelling incense

Even if you didn't know that mosquito coils were invented in Japan, a fleeting glance at the box of the Earth Uzumaki Ko Mosquito Coils will make you think of bygone times. In the case of the particular coils, back to the late 19th century, when a man called Hidezo Kimura in Osaka founded the company that is now Earth Chemical and started researching ways to keep away mosquitoes. And while technology advanced, some of its early solutions stayed because even after a hundred years, the substance called pyrethroid remains as effective an insect-repellent as it was back then.

Each coil in the Earth Uzumaki Ko Mosquito Coils can contains 32.5 mg of a form of pyrethroid called dl-d-T80-allethrin: enough to keep the blood-sucking insects that spoil our summer nights away for about 7 hours. Because not everyone loves the traditional scent, sandalwood has been mixed into the coils so they function as a room freshener as well and the lid of the can with the vintage label can also be used as a tray for when the coil is lit (if you don't want to use the included stand). Effective and traditional, the Uzumaki Ko coils keep you mosquito-free for a whole month!
