There are many dreamlike sequences in Hayao Miyazaki's Academy Award-winning 2001 film Spirited Away and that is only to be expected, since the whole world that ten-year-old Chihiro enters is populated by spirits and supernatural entities. One of the strangest among these scenes is when Chihiro leaves the bathhouse with her mentor, Rin, in a floating tub to ride the Sea Railway. Inspired by this, Studio Ghibli collaborated with toy maker Takara Tomy to create a truly one-of-a-kind toy, the Dream Tomica Spirited Away No-Face.
No-Face, arguably the most iconic figure from Spirited Away, doesn't actually ride in the tub with Chihiro and Rin: he swims and walks on the water. In the Dream Tomica Spirited Away No-Face, though, you get to see what he looks like inside the tub, taking a lonely trip along the sea of the spirit realm. Measuring about 48 x 52 x 35 mm (1.9 x 2 x 1.4") and with a standard Tomica mechanism that allows you to wind it up by moving the toy back and forth (no need for batteries), this is a memorable collectible for any Ghibli fan!
