Dayan the Cat Night Light

Wachifield is a world of wonders where animals act like humans and crocodiles become friends with rabbits, mice, and of course (this being Japan and all) cats. Dayan is a special cat that came to Wachifield from Earth through a magical event that involved snow and became that world's main character, making friends with the other animals and experiencing all kinds of adventures. The world of Wachifield and Dayan is the creation of Tokyo writer Akiko Ikeda and has been very popular in Japan since the late 1980s. Popular enough to inspire many beautiful everyday objects, including the Dayan the Cat Night Light!

Even if you're not familiar with Akiko Ikeda's world, the Dayan the Cat Night Light is a cute portable LED lamp that will certainly strike a chord with the catlover in you. It is about 9.5 x 14.5 x 10.7 cm (3.7 x 5.7 x 4.2"), made of soft-to-the-touch silicone that doesn't get warm, and its light can be set to three intensity levels to fit different situations. Featuring Dayan curled up to sleep but with one eye still surveying the area around her, it looks as good in a children's room as on an adult's nightstand!
