Usuzumi no Sakura Cherry Blossom Incense

Ancient cherry tree-scented room fragrance

Every lover of Japanese culture knows that "sakura" means "cherry tree" or cherry blossom," but the Usuzumi no Sakura that is the inspiration for the Usuzumi no Sakura Cherry Blossom Incense is not just any cherry tree: it's a 1,500-year-old tree growing in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture that, despite its age, keeps on blossoming every year. And if that longevity wasn't enough to make it unique, the blossom's color is also different from the usual white or pink: it's an exotic grayish hue.

The Usuzumi no Sakura Cherry Blossom Incense tries to convey the special characteristics of this majestic cherry tree in both its fragrance (a mix of sandalwood and actual cherry blossom) and packaging, which features the gray-white flowers of the Usuzumi. And it comes as a five-bundle pack in a gift box made of white paulownia wood like the ones used for all Japanese traditional high-quality items. Each incense stick is 140 mm (5.5") long and burns for around 30 minutes, long enough to change the atmosphere even in a large room!
