Tokusei Byakudan Sandalwood Incense

Luxury Japanese room fragrance

Though most associated with India, sandalwood is actually the main ingredient for incense all over East Asia. The sandalwood that you find in the Tokusei Byakudan Sandalwood Incense is indeed worthy of its name "special" (tokusei). The fragrance blenders at Nippon Kodo, Japan's premier incense maker, have drawn from know-how that goes back over four centuries, and to the Imperial Court of Kyoto to harness the most exquisite sandalwood available from India. As soon as you light one, you understand how truly special it is.

The Tokusei Byakudan Sandalwood Incense comes with a stylish ceramic base and in a classic-style paulownia wood box, covered in fabric and with a "claw" closure, just like the boxes used for calligraphy scrolls or other traditional items. The sticks themselves are 56 mm (2.2") long and last for about 13 minutes, long enough to give your space an exotic note. Even after the stick has burned, its aroma lingers lightly, making it ideal even for dinner gatherings since it won't impose on the food!
