To remain relevant after all these years, Takara Tomy is always looking for new collaborations. The latest is this Plarail Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, where Japan's all-time favorite train toy series meets one of its all-time favorite manga and anime franchises. More than just a straightforward tie-up, this is the perfect collaboration for an anime set on a train!
The inspiration for locomotive in the movie and this toy is the JGR Class 8620, the first of its kind made in Japan and which run along various routes around the country in the 1910s and 1920s. With this Plarail set, you get the locomotive, which requires just a single household battery to come to life, as well as the coal car, passenger car, and five of the series' most popular characters: Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko, their friends Zenitsu and Inosuke, and the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku.
