Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Yakumi Miso Condiment

Fermented soybean seasoning sprinkles

The Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Yakumi Miso Condiment is the proof that this traditional store in Nara around for over 300 years is right when it claims to bring you the best from all over Japan. The sprinkle-type condiment contains seven ingredients that make even a bowl off plain rice a real feast. And if you use it with prime Japanese wagyu beef or a dish of crisp tempura, the results are even more spectacular!

The central note in the Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Yakumi Miso Condiment is of course miso, an ingredient quite hard to make in powder form. For this alone, Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten deserves high praise indeed, because powder makes miso way more versatile and easier to use. The miso is a mix of fermented soybeans and barley from Kyushu, blended with Welsh onions from Hyogo Prefecture, dried plums from Wakayama Prefecture, and yuzu citruses from Miyazaki Prefecture as well as Sichuan pepper, garlic, and salt. Together, these form the perfect condiment to accompany and accent any Japanese dish!
