Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Dishcloth Set

Back in the days when the only defense against mosquitoes were mosquito nets, the craftspeople of Nara, Japan's early capital (even before Kyoto!), were making some of the finest using a technique called kaya-ori. Now that people have stopped using those nets, famous Nara shop and local crafts promoter Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten suggests a different use for kaya-ori cotton fabric, rebranding them as Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Dishcloth Sets. Yes, these are household dishcloths but nothing like conventional ones, both in terms of their looks and functionality!

Thanks to the kaya-ori technique, the Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Dishcloth Set's three rags are much more absorbent but they also dry up very quickly, allowing you to use them many times over. They come in five colors (orange, yellow, light indigo, dark purple, light gray) and each set contains three dishcloths: a monochrome one, a dotted one, and a striped one (for dimensions, see below). They are so well made, you can even use them as decorative objects!
