You don't need to be Japanese to know Mount Fuji: people the world over, even those who have never been in Japan and know next to nothing about the country, have certainly seen an image of the iconic mountain with the perfect triangular shape and the peak always covered in snow. And many people also know that Fuji is an active volcano, which means that on and around it is lots of solidified lava from all the times it has erupted in the past. What they probably don't know, though, is that this lava has been used for centuries to make various objects and is still used today, such as for fantastic cooking plates like the Kiwami Legend Lava Cooking Plate!
Made using the iconic mountain's lava, collected at the national park that surrounds it, the Kiwami Legend Lava Cooking Plate is a round stone grill with a diameter of 25 cm (9.8 inches). It is 2 cm (0.8") thick so will withstand pretty much anything and last a lifetime. You can use it on an open-flame gas range and it'll absorb the heat and spread it evenly over the meat, fish, or vegetables you want to grill, cooking them to perfection and preserving all the ingredients' natural flavors. And it even has a countersunk grove to keep the fat and oil from dripping down the sides, guaranteeing a tidy BBQ!
