It is hard to believe but it's been five decades since 1974 and the first appearance of the Rubik's Cube! The 3D puzzle that the eponymous Hungarian architect and sculptor came up with half a century ago never actually went out of style and one reason is its countless transformations. The Rubik's Cube 50th Anniversary Retro Edition is one such transformation, but this time with a nod firmly toward the past: a reissue of the cube that started it all, back in the 1970s!
The Rubik's Cube 50th Anniversary Retro Edition is 57 x 57 x 57 mm (2.2 x 2.2 x 2.2") with 3 x 3 tiles on each side. Everything exactly duplicates the original cube, including the logo, fonts on the packaging, the packaging itself, and even the stickers on it. But since this is a commemorative item, the cube also has two extra features: a special 50th-anniversary logo and a gold side instead of the usual yellow.
