Trying to discover, catch, and train Pokemon is rewarding (if it wasn't, it wouldn't have been one of the most successful game franchises of all time!) but there's one thing lacking in both the standard versions and the augmented reality Pokemon Go series: the Pokemon are too two-dimensional. Graphics are fine but wouldn't it be great to get your hands on a real Poke Ball that could actually capture the little monsters? Takara Tomy, maker of some of Japan's best toys, certainly thought it would and so made one: the Pokemon Battle and Catch! Poke Ball!

Sized like a real Poke Ball (9 x 8 x 8 cm / 3.5 x 3.1 x 3.1"), the Pokemon Battle and Catch! Poke Ball is a standalone toy that transports you into the world of Pokemon gameplay. The screen allows you to search for Pokemon (it contains more than 300 of them) and offers several different ways to catch them. When it comes time to catch them, you close the ball like you would in the game. After catching your Pokemon, train and become friends with them to unlock more of their abilities and help you win more battles!
