Osamu Dazai and Chuya Nakahara Mackerel Can Utility Pouch

Literary trivia-themed multipurpose container

As the name says and as you can plainly see, the Osamu Dazai and Chuya Nakahara Mackerel Can Utility Pouch is a practical, zippered polyester container that you can use for a million storage purposes, from needle and thread to candy, stationery, makeup, and small tools. It measures 12 x 9 cm (4.7 x 3.5"), it's sturdy, and its can-like shape, complete with a ring pull, makes it easy to stand out among your other stuff, and will probably also make your friends ask where you got it and what's the story behind it.

And that would be your chance to shine with your deep knowledge of Japanese culture! The name of the "brand" on the "can" means "flopping-in-the-air mackerel" and is a reference to an incident between prewar poet Chuya Nakahara and his contemporary, writer Osamu Dazai, both very famous and well-known to all Japanese. Apparently the first time they met, Nakahara got drunk and became rude and borderline violent, and told Dazai that he looked like a mackerel flopping in the air. On the side of the pouch are three text blurbs, one about each of the two writers and another about the incident itself.
