Nintendo has returned to its roots with the Nintendo Famicom Mini NES Classic Console, a pint-sized console that fits in the palm of your hand and plugs into your TV. This is based on the original Japanese version of the NES, released two years earlier and known locally as the Famicom (or Family Computer). As such, the colors are different to what kids in North America and Europe remember: out goes the familiar gray and in comes a white with dark red trim design.
This new miniature version (scaled down to around 60% the size of the original) comes preloaded with 30 games, including many stalwarts of the Nintendo canon. Forget virtual reality, Pokemon Go and all that malarkey: The 1980s are back in all their 8-bit glory!
