Headphones are already an essential part of your workout—are you ready to get more out of them? The Karada Trainer from Sega Toys may look like an ordinary set of headphones, but this easy to wear device actually works to keep you on pace. Before setting out, simply enter your age, weight, and intensity level (walking, jogging, or aerobics) and use the sensor to measure your resting heart rate. As you exercise, the sensor keeps track of the pulse in your left earlobe and lets you know if you should be taking it easier or pick up the pace.
The Karada Trainer has three operating modes, the first offers a structured, timed workout that plays energetic electronic music to help you set the pace—simply speed up or slow down depending on the speed of the tunes or rely on the voice cues (Japanese only). The second mode is for un-timed workouts and the third allows you to play music from your own audio player.
This simple, no frills workout accessory has already been a big hit with consumers in Japan!
