Anmitsu is probably the most complicated traditional Japanese sweet: it comprises cubes of a jelly made from algae served with balls of anko red bean paste, fruit (sliced or whole), mochi shaped as balls (called dango dumplings), and often ice cream. It also comes with a black sweet syrup that you can pour over it. The syrup is called mitsu and this is where the name comes from.
