Honjien Matsubacha Pine Needle Tea (30 Teabags)

Healthy Japanese tea pack

After the cherry tree and the bamboo, the most famous Japanese tree or plant is undoubtedly the pine: thanks to bonsai miniature trees and Japanese gardens, at home and abroad, everyone has at least some idea of these beautiful trees with their unusual zigzagging shapes. What isn't very well known, though, is that pines aren't just for looks: people in Japan and Korea have been drinking herbal trees made from the pine's needles for many years. And with the Honjien Matsubacha Pine Needle Tea, you can now try for yourself some of the best pine needle tea Japan has to offer!

For the Honjien Matsubacha Pine Needle Tea, maker Honjien, an Okayama company with a history in tea starting in 1931, has chosen red pines from the Chugoku region (Hiroshima, Okayama, Shimane, Tottori, and Yamaguchi prefectures) and from Shikoku island. Red pines have softer leaves and a pleasant flavor. But it isn't just about the flavor: the tea in each of these 3 g (0.1 oz) bags packs five times the concentration of vitamin C you find in lemons and lots of vitamin A and antioxidants to boot. All that without the caffeine of regular tea!
