Why an automobile manufacturer would do research on something like the effect of a car's engine sound has on babies is a mystery but apparently Honda did and came up with an interesting finding: the sound of an engine can have a comforting effect on a baby, possibly because for some reason it resembles the sounds the baby heard when in the womb. Sound far-fetched? Try the Honda Sound Sitter with your baby and test out the theory!
Made in partnership with top toy maker Takara Tomy, itself a specialist in cars (it makes the long-running Tomica series that is an all-time classic), the Honda Sound Sitter is 25 x 17 x 12 cm (9.8 x 6.7 x 4.7") and designed to look like the 1965 Honda S600 Coupe, the company's first mass-marketed car. On the outside, it looks just like any other plush toy but add three AAA alkaline batteries, press the hood, and it starts making the noise of the Honda NSX. If Honda's researchers are right, this is bound to bring a smile to your baby's face!
