Exploring Lab Nature Mammoth

Prehistoric animal model

It isn't a very well advertised fact but Japan is full of fossil sites and has some of the best minds in the world studying them. One of the institutions specializing in them, and particularly elephants and mammoths, is the Lake Nojiri Naumann Elephant Museum, whose experts have collaborated with major toy-maker Bandai for the creation of a unique fun and education project: the Exploring Lab Nature Mammoth, a model of one of the best-known extinct animals, the woolly mammoth!

Made of 44 pieces that you can snap out of their frames without any extra tools, and accompanied by a how-to booklet also containing information about the animal, the Exploring Lab Nature Mammoth model kit allows you to study the skeleton of the giant creature in full detail, and then add the rest of the body to finish it. But there's more: put the model in the refrigerator (or any other environment with a temperature below 10°C/50°F), leave it for 10 minutes, and when you take it out, the color will have changed from white to the brown of a real mammoth's hair!
