Shabani Gorilla Hugging Blanket

Anyone can be a celebrity in the age of social media and they don't even need to be human. Take Shabani, for example: this 27-year-old western lowland gorilla who lives in the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya became a celebrity in Japan about ten years ago for being so sexy and photogenic. Since then, he has been the subject of TV shows and a DVD release as well as a mascot for various sweets in Nagoya's Parco department store. And now, a bedtime and leisure companion with the Shabani Gorilla Hugging Blanket!

We call it the Shabani Gorilla Hugging Blanket but it's actually two items: a 100 x 150 cm (3.3 x 4.9 ft) soft polyester blanket and a 47 x 41cm (18.5 x 16.1") round cushion with a realistic cutout illustration of Shabani and his hands. The blanket is attached to the cushion with snap fasteners. Doing this makes it feel like Shabani is hugging you with his strong hands! Perfect for lazing around on a Sunday morning – or for making some really unique social media pics!
