In the 40+ years it has been in (and helped define) the video games industry, Sega has created so many titles that even hardcore gamers can't keep track of them all. Among the fans of the tile-matching genre, though, Sega's Puyo Puyo holds a special place, having gone through 27 editions between 1991 and 2021. For its 24th anniversary, Japan even had a stage adaptation of the game! And the fact that one of its creatures appears as a tabletop lamp as Puyo Puyo Nightlight is yet more proof of its enduring popularity.
Made of soft silicone, the Puyo Puyo Nightlight duplicates the creature's texture and name ("puyopuyo" means "jelly-like"). It's 8.4 x 10.8 x 10.5 cm (3.3 x 4.3 x 4.1") and has a LED light, so doesn't get warm and lasts for years. Powered by three AAA batteries, the lamp emits a very soft green light that makes it ideal for use in children's rooms. And it also comes with an eight-page, B5-size booklet in Japanese with information about the game and its history!
