The Laputa Castle in the Sky Flaptter Model is a tribute to the flying vehicle that appears in the Studio Ghibli anime. The Flaptter has moving wings that give the impression that this model is climbing up into the clouds. It has lights at the front and back that turn on in three places, while everything is controlled by the switches on the base.
The analog switches give the model a wonderfully mechanical and industrial feel that matches the original design from the anime, enhanced by the wind-up crank to flap the wings.
