After the cherry blossoms are over, the next thing that becomes the season theme for the Japanese is May 5, also known as Children's Day. All over Japan, decorations featuring carp-shaped streamers called koinobori pop up in open spaces because these are supposed to bring good luck to any little boys related to the person flying the streamers.
