Kyugetsu Mini Tabletop Koinobori Carp Streamer

Traditional Children's Day decoration

After the cherry blossoms are over, the next thing that becomes the season theme for the Japanese is May 5, also known as Children's Day. All over Japan, decorations featuring carp-shaped streamers called koinobori pop up in open spaces because these are supposed to bring good luck to any little boys related to the person flying the streamers. And since most Japanese who live in cities do not have a space for a full-size koinobori (which can stretch several meters/feet long!), they have come to appreciate indoor solutions like the Kyugetsu Mini Tabletop Koinobori Carp Streamer!

As its name suggests, the Kyugetsu Mini Tabletop Koinobori Carp Streamer has a compact size that allows it to fit almost anywhere: at just 9 x 9 x 44 cm (3.5 x 3.5 x 17.3"), you can even put it on the side of your desk at work! But don't let the mini size fool you: the two carp streamers and the yaguruma arrow wheel on top of the pole are crafted with great attention to detail and this is only to be expected, since they come from the hands of Tokyo's best doll maker, Kyugetsu in the city's historical Asakusabashi area!
