Elekit Robo Swimmy Fish Kit

DIY swimming robot toy

People have been dreaming about it for centuries and the time has come: robots are here and can perform all kinds of activities for us. Even better, we have the know-how to build them ourselves and it is so easy that even children can do it – or at least, they can in Japan, where robots hold a special place in people's hearts! The Elekit Robo Swimmy Fish Kit is one such case: your 10-year-old (or you: these projects are fun for all ages) can build a robot that actually swims!

The Elekit Robo Swimmy Fish Kit contains everything you need to make this small (approximately 75 x 200 x 135 mm or 3 x 7.9 x 5.3") robotic fish. What you will need to bring to the table, so to speak, is a Philips screwdriver for some of the parts (others just snap together) and one AA battery to power the little fella when you put him in the water, where he uses his tail to propel himself and his dorsal fin to slalom like a real fish!
