Chogokin Tower of the Sun Robot

Taro Okamoto Taiyo no To 1970 Expo figure

It's one of the great symbols of postwar Japan and now here it is like never before. Bandai Tamashii's Chogokin series of die-cast models have turned to the Taiyo no To, the Tower of the Sun, Taro Okamoto's massive artwork that first appeared at the 1970 World Expo in Osaka, and still stands in the park today. The result from this unique collaboration is the Chogokin Tower of the Sun Robot.

Chogokin Tower of the Sun Robot

Part action figure, part model, this Chogokin mechanical remake of Okamoto's vision is both a tribute and an awesome reinvention of one of Showa-era Japan's most iconic landmarks. The Tower of the Sun now transforms in three stages into a robot-like figure. Its chest opens up, the legs extends, and the neck even moves!
