Jintol Brain Game

Puzzle board game for two players

Developed by two current Keio University students, this brilliant mathematical game will be loved by fans of chess, reversi or sudoku. In Jintol, the aim is to place your panel with patterns of white or black blocks on the board, when necessary overlapping with your opponent's panel. There are two players, armed with eight kinds of panels and eight "item cards", which can introduce changes to the gameplay. For example, "spin" will flip your opponent's panel around, while "freeze" stops them moving.

You can place your panel in any part of the board that is completely free or by overlapping with another panel by one or more squares of the same color. However, you cannot completely cover your opponent's panel. From the eight item cards you choose three you like before you start, which you then place face-down on the table so your opponent doesn't know what tricks you might suddenly produce!

Then play a round of rock-paper-scissors to decide who goes first... then start! The player wins when all 25 squares are filled and their color dominates. The trick is to seize the corners early on and to ensure you get to place the final panel down.
