Made in the style of Banshu Soroban, traditional Japanese regional crafts with four hundred years of history, this Irori & Tetsubin set re-creates the splendor of Japanese home cooking in whatever kind of room you happen to live in today. Compact and relatively lightweight, the set can be moved around and the sunken hearth (or "Irori") can also be covered so that the set serves perfectly adequately as a regular table as well.
This set also features all the tools and utensils you need to bring in the atmosphere of Japanese "wa" (harmony) into your home, including a traditional cast iron pot, or "Tetsubin". With this you can boil and make tea, and since iron is released into the water, it is far healthier than using a modern electric kettle.
