Eco is all the rage these days and you can even have fun by helping to save the planet. Takara Tomy has come up with the Edash RC Car toy, based on the electric vehicles that are set to take over from regular gasoline cars in the near future. The infrared handcrank - designed to look like the electric charge-up stations starting to pop up around Japan - serves as the way to charge, power and then drive your car.
Just plug it into the car to charge it up. Then you can turn the pump to make the toy move forward or backwards, and the buttons to go left or right! Around 60 seconds of charge equates to between 90 and 120 seconds of drive time. Ideal for teaching youngsters about energy, conserving power, and automobiles, the cars also look pretty nifty and cute!
You can get yourself a police car (with flashing lights!) or fire truck (based on classic Tomy car toys), or one of four different models based on popular eco cars today! There's of course the zero emission Nissan Leaf, the Toyota Prius, Honda CR-Z and the Honda Fit Hybrid. Plus there are even tie-up versions with Pokemon and Disney/Pixar's Cars! And best of all? There's no batteries!
You can even have your own "grand prix" like these two!
