The Japanese love their noodles and don't miss a chance to serve them in a way fit for each season. Take somen noodles, for example. Thin, iced and dipped in tsuyu sauce, they are the perfect summer dish with or without some crunchy tempura. And if you want to go the extra mile, the best way to serve them is "nagashi" style, or streaming down a bamboo slider. The bamboo has been substituted by a plastic lookalike and a couple of batteries have been thrown in to keep the water running, but as soon as you assemble the Furyu Kiwami Nagashi Somen Slider, you only have to add the water, assign someone to put the somen noodles in the top platform, and then let them slide down. The rest of the party can sit around and try catching them as they come down or in the little pool in the end of the slider. Of course this is done with chopsticks to makes things harder!
