Designed by Chie Kanayama, the Furoshiki Bag 2 takes modern materials and design, and mixes with the original "eco" bag of Japan: The furoshiki. Long used to carry everything from parcels to lunch, furoshiki are now back in style as a modernized way to carry things without the waste and bad-taste of plastic bags. Simply fold over, tie at the top, and close with a magnet clasp.
Each Furoshiki Bag unfolds from its tiny, coin-purse size to become a full bag complete with pockets and magnet closures, and each of the three versions is perfectly made for its task. Lunch, for example, is made to be small enough to carry your boxed lunch, and comes with a spot to put your portable chopsticks or silverware. It also doubles as the perfect lap cover for eating on-the go.
Hand is made to be the perfect portable hand or shopping bag. It's light, stylish, and fits into your normal handbag or pocket when compacted, and expands to carry everything you need for tonight's dinner. Carry it for shopping, or simply use it to carry your books and other items when you're out.
The main features of Shoulder are the numerous pockets and lrge size for carrying everything from your beachwear to your laundry. It's big, but not overbearing, and has pockets that can hold A4 sized papers and notebooks.
